Duck NC is part of the barrier islands known as the Outer Banks and is located above Nags Head NC about 25 miles below the NC/VA state line. The Town of Duck is an official NC municipality complete with Police, Fire, and Lifeguard services. The primary industry is vacation rentals, real estate, and other service related businesses.
